The Forum for Access and Continuing Education is a membership network which facilitates the exchange and dissemination of information and practices in lifelong learning and widening participation to higher education.  This Privacy Policy will explain how our organisation uses the personal data we collect from you when you use our website.

What data do we collect?

FACE collects the following data:

  • Personal identification information such as your name, email address, phone number, institution/company, where it is provided to us in the contact form on our website;
  • Your IP address which is transmitted via server logs;
  • Your browser user agent and build information, together with your device type and operating system.

How do we collect your data?

You directly provide FACE with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

  • Submit an online enquiry, subscribe to our email newsletter, or place an order for any of our events or services online;
  • Voluntarily complete a member/customer survey or provide feedback via email;
  • Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies.

How will we use your data?

FACE collects your data so that we can:

  • Respond to your enquiry or sign up request;
  • Process your order(s) or conference booking(s);
  • Email you with information about FACE membership and activity;
  • Tailor the relevance of the content that we send to you.

If you agree, FACE will share your data with our partner conference organisers so that they may process your conference bookings.

How do we store your data?

FACE securely stores your data within Salesforce and Mailchimp systems at its UEL office.  These are secure, password-protected data environments and FACE has implemented robust processes and procedures to keep your data safe.

FACE will keep your personal data for the term of your membership, subscription or event booking.  Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data by [enter how you delete users’ data].

Marketing communications

FACE would like to send you information about events and services that we think would interest you.  If you have agreed to receive our newsletter, you may always opt out using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email.

You have the right at any time to stop FACE from contacting you for marketing purposes or giving your data to other members of FACE.

What are your data protection rights?

FACE would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

The right to access – You have the right to request a copy of your personal data which is held by FACE. We may charge you a small fee for this service.

The right to rectification – You have the right to request that FACE corrects any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request that FACE completes any information you believe is incomplete.

The right to erasure – You have the right to request that FACE erases your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that FACE restricts the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to FACE’s processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to data portability – You have the right to request that FACE transfers the data that we have collected to another organisation, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
